Architecture & countryside

From morning mist to dusk

The glass conservatory opens the centre to the changing light and views of the meadows and hills. Together with the pergola, it offers places to gather, pause and enjoy the surroundings, from quiet mornings to evenings together.

Gathering, learning & creating

Generous spaces filled with light

The cultural centre includes a library hall of around 300 m², a 176 m² events hall, a spacious gathering area and a 140 m² glass conservatory. These rooms offer different settings for seminars, retreats, exhibitions, workshops and cultural activities.

Accommodation today

Guest rooms and everyday comfort

Four guest bedrooms, each with two beds and a private bathroom, provide accommodation for visitors or course participants. Two equipped kitchens make it easy to organise meals alongside activities in the halls and shared rooms.

Accommodation potential

Room to welcome more guests

The centre’s generous interiors offer scope to create more accommodation while retaining the halls and shared spaces that make it distinctive.

Within the cultural centre

Selected parts of the large library and other spacious rooms could be adapted into additional bedrooms or shared accommodation, with the layout shaped around your programme.

The optional agricultural outbuilding

An agricultural outbuilding can also be included in the purchase, offering another possibility to explore for additional accommodation.

Conversion would depend on the proposed layout and the necessary permissions.

Energy & comfort

Thoughtful design for year-round comfort

The cultural centre was designed with energy efficiency and comfort in mind. Good insulation and its position partly set into the hillside help moderate indoor temperatures. A ground-source heat pump supplies underfloor heating, while the glass conservatory has automatically controlled ventilation openings and shading. Thirty grid-connected photovoltaic panels currently generate around €3,700 a year in income.

The French energy assessment for the cultural centre is unclassified (DPE vierge), because the building was not continuously occupied and the consumption data could not support a rating.

A history of gathering

A history of welcoming people

The centre has welcomed concerts, theatre, exhibitions, readings, retreats and other gatherings for many years. Its history grew from a wish to make books, ideas and culture accessible beyond the cities. Wheelchair-access facilities help welcome a wider range of visitors.
